Mike Macias was born to Luis and Ann Macias on August 9, 1957. He was the youngest of 4 siblings, Sylvia, Doris, and David. He grew up in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. He was a loving kid and was always joking around. He was class president at Cathedral High School, where he graduated from in 1976.
Mike met Beatriz in 1976 and fell for her instantly and they were together ever since. On February 18, 1978 they were married and this past February they celebrated their 45-year wedding anniversary. The love and sacrifices made by Mike and Bea is what made their marriage last. Together they had 4 children (Mike Jr., Michele, Steven, and Stephanie) and 6 grandchildren (Jasmine, Michael III., Malia, Sophia, Camila, and Mateo).
Mike worked hard to make sure his family was always taken care of. He graduated from Dental Technician School but realized his true passion was in sales because he loved to be around people. He worked long hours and some weekends to make sure Bea didn’t have to work so she could take care of the kids.
Mike loved to share the lord’s word and never missed an opportunity to lead people to Christ. One of his passions was playing the guitar, he played in several worship teams. He would also volunteer to teach children and youth ministries. He knew God well and had strong faith. Towards the end of his life, he knew he would be in heaven with his loved ones who had already passed.
Mike was a kind and loving man. He would literally give his shirt off his back to someone in need. He knew that real value and real worth were measured by what good was done for others. If he could make someone’s life easier or relieve an ounce of burden from them, it brought him joy.
Mike had a sense of humor. He was always joking around or telling some funny story. He loved to make people laugh, whether it was at his jokes or at him dancing around the house. He would sometimes change his voice or would make funny faces just to get a laugh. Even just walking into work or a doctor’s office, he always had something funny or clever to say. He made this world a happier place full of laughter.
Mike brought life, happiness, laughter and good into this world and he left a piece of that with everyone here today. It is our reasonability to carry it on.
